After Keanu Reeves, Priyanka Chopra bags film with Celine Dion

Titled 'Text For You', Chopra will play a woman who eases the pain of losing fiancé by sending texts to his old cell

Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, on Tuesday, announced that she is all set to star in a romantic drama with none other than hitmaker Celine Dion, reported Deadline

While the latter hasn't acted in a feature film since Muppets Most Wanted in 2014, but My Heart will Go On songstress has signed on to appear in the forthcoming film, titled Text For You, with the former Miss World and The Spy Who Dumped Me famed star Sam Heughan. The Bollywood diva will play a woman who eases the pain of tragically losing her fiancé by sending romantic texts to his old cell. 

According to the publication, 'it turns out, the phone number has been reassigned to a man across town suffering from similar heartbreak. The two meet and feel an undeniable connection, but can’t seem to leave the past behind.'

Meanwhile 'the music and influence' of Dion 'gives them the courage to take a chance on love again.'  The film is a remake of the 2016 German-language box office hit SMS Fur Dich and will be directed by Grace Is Gone helmer Jim Strouse. 

The former Quantico star is currently in Europe where filming has resumed on Matrix 4. In July this year, it was reported that Chopra is gearing up to share screen space with Keanu Reeves in the fourth installment of the Matrix series, reported Variety. 

Speculations of negotiations between the former Miss World and the film-makers had sparked in January. But details of her prospective character are still being kept under wraps. The sequel will also feature Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris in the leading roles.

The actor also made use of quarantine to write a memoir which she has titled Unfinished. Chopra told Today she would sit outside at her LA home to write 'after my workout when it's quiet, and Nick's busy doing his thing.' She said: 'I would put on some soft music and just delve into the time of life I was writing about.' 

Chopra is also promising the book will reveal something of the inner workings of her relationship with Jonas. 'My partner is one of my greatest pride and joys. He is a true partner in every sense,' she said. 'There's a big insight into our wedding, our love story, into my life before Nick and my life now.'

Other than Hollywood, Chopra, on the other hand, also announced her collaboration with Amazon Studios. The Sky Is Pink actor’s ‘two-year, multi-million-dollar first-look television deal’ will allow her to bring more South Asian representation to global television, said India Today.

She will also be seen in Sheela, an upcoming Netflix docu-series wherein she will portray the role of Ma Anand Sheela, assistant to guru Bhagwan Rajneesh (also known as Osho). Aside from these, Chopra also has The White Tiger in the pipeline, an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s novel of the same name, alongside Rajkummar Rao.
