AVLC busts ‘gang of ‘motorcycle lifters’

The AVLC claims the suspects snatched a motorcycle, a licensed pistol and a mobile phone from a constable

Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested five of a seven-member motorcycle-lifting gang in separate operations and to have found three stolen motorcycles, a rickshaw, weapons and mobile phones in their possession.

The arrested suspects, identified as Sher Dil alias Shiro, Imtiaz, Raheem Bux, Arbelo alias Zakir and Mohammad Younus alias Badal, also snatched motorcycles and weapons from two policemen, according to the AVLC. The gang carried out criminal activities in Sohrab Goth, Site Super Highway area and Quaidabad, said the police.

The AVLC claims the suspects snatched a motorcycle, a licensed pistol and a mobile phone from Constable Tufail Khan, deputed at Model Colony Traffic Section, in September.

The suspects are also accused of snatching the motorcycle of Constable Waqar of Sachal Police Station on October 17. The stolen vehicle was recovered by the police.

According to the AVLC, the suspects used a rickshaw for their conveyance, which was found in the possession of Bux. The police claims the arrested suspects sold stolen vehicles to persons named Hussain and Saleemullah in Bhattiabad.
