AYUBIA:

The locals of Bakote protested against the possible installation of the stone-crushing plant on Saturday.

Concerned citizens including Turab Abbasi, Abid, Rameez, and others told The Express Tribune that a powerful group running the business of stone crushing was bent upon destroying the future of their children.

They said that a stone-crushing plant was being installed some 100 metres away from a picnic point which was a source of income for the local populace.

They said that they did not have enough support from locals as they were unaware of the dangers associated with a stone crushing plant.

They added that the installation of the plant would not only put their lives in danger but it would also mar the beauty of the area.
