Pakistan can no longer survive without reforms, said Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) chief Mustafa Kamal on Thursday, as he lambasted the federal government and opposition for engaging in a "constant tug of war to safeguard their political interest, thereby sabotaging the interest of common man."

He was addressing a meeting of party workers in Orangi Town. "The nation is now fed up of both the government and the opposition," he remarked, stressing that the country needed reforms for implementing quick solutions to its problems.

He said the "corrupt and biased" Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had been unjust towards the people of Sindh.

"Karachi's people have to come out [on the roads] to get their problems solved," said Kamal, adding that the PPP, as well as the federal government in the name of Rs1.1 trillion Karachi package, had betrayed the residents of the metropolis.

He said that due to the incumbent government's 'incompetence', inflation had spiked and the poor were even unable to afford daily meals. "The tall claims and hollow promises have turned out to be a nightmare for the people."

Kamal appealed to people to attend PSP's rally in Bagh-e-Jinnah on November 8 to "convey to the conscienceless rulers that their tyranny will not last for long and their days are numbered."
