RAWALPINDI:

An 18-month-old toddler was burnt to death when a house on Misriyal Road caught fire on Monday. A Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that they responded to a fire at a house in Niazi Town. They found that the door to the house had been locked from the outside while children were inside. Firefighters and two fire tenders managed to put out the fire and save three-year-old Salman in an unconscious condition. However, the toddler, Adil, perished. Later, doctors described the condition of the injured child as critical due to smoke inhalation, while the body of Adil was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ). The mother later told rescue workers that her husband was away at work while she had gone out for a short period after locking the house from the outside. While she was away a fire broke out at the house. Police have launched an investigation into the fire.
