PTI donates plants for Liaquat Bagh

Covers for damages caused during oath taking ceremony at the venue

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President Sadaqat Abbasi donated 110 saplings to Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) against damage to the greenery caused by his party’s meeting at Liaquat Bagh.

Dozens of saplings were trampled during the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected members of Punjab PTI.

PTI official Abbasi and PHA Chairman Asif Mehmood held a joint presser at Liaquat Bagh on Saturday.

The party leader said that the PHA Chairman Mehmood had sent a bill of Rs47,000 to his party as compensation for the damage caused to the trees and saplings during the political activity.

Abbasi said that they would pay the bill while they would also donate 500 more saplings to PHA.

He said that henceforth the organisers of events and programmes at Liaquat Bagh would be responsible for the damages caused to the saplings.

Further, the PTI leader declared the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Gujranwala rally a flop show and said dynastic politics in Pakistan was near its end.

He said that politics have now been passed to the common people from sons and daughters of elite.

Criticising Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Head Nawaz Sharif over his controversial address In the PDM rally, he said that the ex-prime minister was speaking the language of the enemy.

The PTI government would complete its term, the opposition parties can fulfil their desire of resigning from the assemblies, Abbasi added.
