Elderly man’s body found

An old man was found shot dead in Lower Mall police limits on Friday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman. Police said on Friday the old man’s body was spotted by his brothers in a pool of blood at the house. They called police. A police team reached the spot on information and shifted the body to morgue for autopsy. They also collected forensic evidences from crime scene and recorded statements of the eye-witnesses. Initial investigations suggested that the victim was suffering from acute mental illness. He might have shot himself dead. However, police were investigating further the motive behind the suspicious death.
