Minors among three ‘raped’

Cases of sexual violence continue unabated in city due to lawlessness

JARANWALA:

Three people including two minors were allegedly raped in Jaranwala on Saturday.

Police said a six-year-old girl, the daughter of Shafiq Ahmed, a resident of Mohalla Usman Ghani, Ghulam Muhammadabad was playing outside her house when the accused identified as Asim, son of Naeem, found her.

The suspect took her to an unknown location where he sexually assaulted her. During the incident, the victim screamed which caught the attention of passersby. The local residents came to her rescue and the accused was caught red handed.

Separately, a shopkeeper gave intoxicated food to a 14-year-old boy in Jhang Road, Motor Market and allegedly raped him.

In another incident, the 23-year-old wife of Farman Ali was alone at her home when 30-year-old Qasim, son of Hanif and resident of Chak No 476GB, sexually assaulted her at gunpoint. Reportedly, the accused was also a close relative of the victim’s husband.

Police registered cases against the accused and launched raids to arrest them.
