ABBOTTABAD:

The Hazara Divisional Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud has directed all the deputy commissioners to take stern action against those involved in arbitrarily hiking prices and hoarding essential items. He directed this while presiding over a meeting of deputy commissioners at his office on Friday.

The meeting was held on the directions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) chief minister and chief secretary. Mahsud said that profiteering and hoarding will never be tolerated and those found violating the law will be dealt with strictly. He directed to ensure ample availability of edible items in the market on prescribed rates and asked the deputy commissioners to involve the entire government machinery and available resources to curb price hikes.

He also urged the public to check the prices of edibles and if they found anyone involved in profiteering or hoarding, then register a complaint against them with the concerned deputy commissioner.
