The Quaid-e-Azam Monument Management Board, a federal authority, issued a permission letter to the Pakistan Peoples Party to hold a rally on October 18, 2020.

However, the federal government has stated that the participants of the rally are prohibited from making provocative political or sectarian speeches.

It further states that permission can be revoked at any point and the Centre will not be compelled to provide a reason.

According to the letter, the organisers of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally are bound to ensure implementation of coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).

No welcome camp can be set up at the event, and security and walk through gates are to be arranged by the organisers, according to the terms stated by the federal authority. Besides, the rally is to conclude by 12am.
