9 die in road accidents across Punjab

The statistics show that 198 RTCs were reported in Lahore

LAHORE:

At least nine people died and 904 others injured in 840 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of this, 563 people who suffered severe injuries were shifted to different hospitals. As many as 341 victims with minor injuries were treated at the accidents site. The majority ie 63% of the accidents involved motorcycles. The analysis showed that 355 drivers, 24 underage drivers, 140 pedestrians, and 418 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes. The statistics show that 198 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 185 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 67 in Faisalabad with 82 victims and at third Multan with 58 RTCs and 67 victims. The data revealed that 682 motorcycles, 128 auto-rickshaws, 91 motorcars, 39 vans, 11 passenger buses, 26 trucks and 111 other types of vehicles.
