A model court sentenced on Wednesday a man, Mohsinul Rehman, to life imprisonment and acquitted two others, Salman and Babaruddin, in a murder case.

Rehman, along with an accomplice, had gunned down Zafar in a dairy shop on Tipur Sultan Road in 2005.

The verdict was announced by South additional sessions judge during a hearing at Karachi City Court.

The convict, Mohsinul Rehman, has also been directed to pay Rs500,000 compensation to the deceased’s heirs.

In case Rehman is unable to pay the compensation, he will have to spend six more months in prison, the court ruled.
