Andhadhun, 2018's critical masterpiece starring Ayushmann Khurran, Radhika Apte and Tabu was previously reported to be remade in Tamil. Popular Tamil actor, Prashanth is already roped in to play the lead role of a pianist that gets caught up in a web of murder and deceit.

As far as the rest of the cast is concerned, so far various reports have surfaced. The latest one links Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai to the film. According to a recent report by Times of India, Rai will reprise the role essayed by Tabu in the original. Tabu had played the antagonist in the 2018 film, a cold-blooded wife who kills her own husband along with her lover.

The report adds that certain key elements of the plot have been altered so that the film can resonate with the Kollywood audience. However, the film’s original structure will remain the same. “The film is being remade in various south Indian languages. So, the team wants to cast the right people for the roles. Prashanth has lost oodles of weight and will be sporting a new look for the film," a source was quoted as saying.
