KE employee electrocuted to death

Receives a fatal shock working at an electricity pole while balanced on a ladder attached to a KE truck

An employee of K-Electric (KE) was electrocuted to death while working in Akbar Ali Goth in Ibrahim Hyderi on Saturday.

According to Ibrahim Hyderi SHO Chaudhry Shahid, the deceased, identified as Sohrab Hussain, 25, was working at an electricity pole while balanced on a ladder attached to a KE truck, when he received the fatal shock.

He said that Hussain died on the spot and his body remained hanging on the ladder for a while. The body was later removed by KE staff after suspending the power supply in the area. It was shifted to the hospital and later handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities.

According to the power utility company, Hussain was electrocuted while he was changing the electricity supply line on the pole. Offering condolences to the deceased’s family, they stated that the incident was being investigated and the statements of other staff members had been recorded in this regard.
