LAHORE:

A woman lawmaker of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has alleged the government for using FIA and police as tools to suppress political leaders and workers from exercising their right to freedom of expression.

The demand was made by PML-N legislator Sumaira Komal through her resolution that she submitted in Punjab Assembly Secretariat. She implored that she strongly condemned the conduct of FIA and Punjab Police through which the political leaders and workers are being harassed.

“The political workers are the real face of a political party but, regrettably, the workers are being harassed,” she said.

“It seems the government has lost its balance and it does not know how to run state matters,” she added. She maintained that the related notices were being issued to the workers by the FIA which meant the government is annoyed with the workers over their freedom of expression.

Komal demanded the government to stop this practice of using the aforementioned institution's press people for their political motives.

Meanwhile, another PML-N woman lawmaker demanded the NAB chairman to take notice of billions of rupees which the PTI led government spent on advertisement in the name of a bogus project ‘Insaaf Health Card.'
