Reshuffle: 35 police officers transferred in 48 hours

Nine cops sent back to Establishment Division

In yet another massive reshuffle, the Punjab Police transferred 35 officers within the province, while the services of nine others were surrendered to the Establishment Division in the last 48 hours. Six DIGs have also been transferred to the province.

On Tuesday, Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) Inam Ghani issued the orders of posting of Ghulam Mubashir Maikan as DPO Sheikhupura while Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin was transferred as AIG Operations Punjab CPO, DPO Sialkot Mustansir Feroz was transferred and posted as DPO Minawali, Hassan Asad Alvi from Mianwali was transferred and posted as DPO Sialkot, Omer Saed Malik DPO Okara was transferred and posted as DPO DG Khan while Akhtar Farooq was asked to report to CPO, SSP Operations Lahore Faisal Shahzad was transferred and posted as DPO Okara while Zahir Nawaz Marwat, who was awaiting posting, has been posted as AIG Inspection CPO.

On the same day, six DIGs from the Establishment Division were transferred to Punjab. The officers included Agha Yousaf, Shariq Jamal, Munir Masood Marth, Muhammad Yousaf Malik, Sarfraz Falki and Munir Ahmad Zia Rao.

A few days earlier, services of two former CCPOs, BA Nasir and Zulfiqar Hameed, were also surrendered to the Establishment Division.

On Monday, at least nine police officers were surrendered to the federal division. The officers included DIG Special Protection Unit Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Gujranwala City Police Officer Rai Babar Saeed, DIG Elite Police Akthar Abbas, DIG Welfare Shaukat Abbas, DIG Punjab Highway Patrol Humayun Bashir Tarrar, DIG Telecommunication and Transport Akbar Nasir Khan, Deputy Commandant Punjab Constabulary Inksar Khan, SSP Zeshan Asghar and SSP Liaqat Ali Malik.

The reshuffle of 24 police officers was the first province-wide massive transfer Ghani ordered in the two ranks since he assumed charge as the IGP last month.

According to the orders issued on Monday, Lahore SSP Investigation Zeshan Asghar was transferred and directed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO). Later, he was surrendered before the Establishment Division. AIG Operations South Punjab Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani has been appointed as SSP Investigations Lahore. DPO Kasur Zahid Nawaz Marwat was transferred and directed to report to the CPO. SSP Headquarters Punjab Constabulary Farooqabad Sahibzada Bilal Umar was transferred and posted as SSP Operations CTD Punjab Lahore. Chief Traffic Officer Multan Huma Naseeb was transferred and posted as Additional SP Headquarters Multan in place of Zunera Azhar who was transferred and posted as SP Security Rawalpindi.

Special Branch Multan Region SP Mohammad Zafar Buzdar was transferred and posted as Multan Chief Traffic Officer, Bahawalpur Investigation SP.
