PESHAWAR:

The new fee structure for using facilities at the Qayyum Sports Complex by the K-P Sports Directorate has been criticised by the locals who believe that it would discourage the youth from sports activities. The sports directorate has set Rs1, 000 registration fee while the monthly charges would be Rs500.

A local organisation has also displayed protesting banners against the move near sports facility. It stated that the measure would hurt young players and sports lovers, demanding revoking the decision. However, the K-P Sports director general said that the services would be free for players of provincial and national levels as well as the students who could not afford to pay fees.

He contended that the government has hired certified coaches for training players and maintained that the people who could afford to pay meager monthly fees should do it.
