Tribal districts get waste collection vans

Various schemes are being launched in major cities of the province including in the Peshawar

To improve the provision of civic services, particularly cleanliness, the provincial government on Sunday provided 50 waste collection vehicles to 25 different tehsil municipal administrations in the merged districts. This was disclosed during a meeting held to review the performance of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Local Government and Rural Development Department.

K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan presided over the meeting. The meeting was informed that waste collection vehicles and other machinery for municipal services will be provided to the all newly-established Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) in the second phase. Moreover, the establishment of various vegetable and fruit markets and bus stands in the merged tribal districts is underway.

Regarding different uplift schemes for improving municipal services in different districts of the province, it was informed that under the Cities Improvement Project (CIP), various schemes are being launched in major cities of the province including in the Peshawar, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Swat, Abbottabad and Mardan districts.
