LAHORE:

The business community has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to immediately stop issuing notices to businessmen as they will not only cause undue harassment but will also give a bad name to the government. In a statement on Thursday, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Tariq Misbahur Rehman said in the post-Covid era, businesses should be facilitated but unfortunately adverse steps were being taken. The LCCI chief said the economy had just begun to recover from the slowdown induced by the Covid-19 pandemic and it still faced aftershocks of the lockdown period. “Businesses have reopened after more than eight months and enterprises are doing their best to recoup the losses suffered during that period,” he said.
