ISLAMABAD:

With the Indian ruling nexus between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) disenfranchising and dispossessing Kashmiri Muslims creating a poisonous legacy of hate, it is important to launch a global movement to declare them as terrorist organisations.

This was stated by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan while addressing an online conference on the "Role of Human Rights Watch in Thwarting Indian Atrocities in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir" on Wednesday. The conference had been organised by the Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS).

“By killing, disenfranchising and dispossessing Kashmiri Muslims, the BJP-RSS regime is creating a poisonous legacy of hate and hostility,” said Masood, adding that Muslims and Hindus have lived together in harmony in South Asia for centuries.

“This [legacy] will spell disaster for peace, security and development,” he added.

President Masood said that despite the promulgation of numerous international human rights instruments, India continues to flagrantly defy them in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The AJK president said that what was even more alarming was the rapid demographic transformation taking place in IIOJK.

“This is the most serious crime. Around 1.8 million non-State Hindus have already been granted Kashmir domiciles. At this rate, in a couple of years, the non-native Hindu population will be equal to the local Muslim population,” he said.

The AJK president proposed that the International Law Commission can also be approached for establishing a special tribunal on the genocide taking place in IIOJK while third parties can also refer the matter to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
