RAWALPINDI:

Police have registered two separate cases in the Dhoke Kamal Deen massacre incident involving murder of four siblings over a marriage dispute.

The densely populated neighbourhood bore a sombre look as four janazas were lifted from the same house. The father of the victims was inconsolable for losing his family to the blind vengeance of the brother of her daughter’s husband.

The nominated suspect, Ghulam Abbas, had allegedly killed the family of his brother’s wife, Eraj. The victims included her three sisters Sabahat, Faiza, and Hira and brother, Haider.

The FIR for the murder of Sabahat, Faiza, and Hira and injuring Eraj was filed by Adeeb Ali, while Naveed Iqbal filed the FIR for the murder of Haider.

Critically injured Eraj, in her statement to the police, narrated the incident and nominated her husband’s brother as the assailant. The Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has also taken notice of the brutal killings and summoned a report from the Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younus.

Further, the Airport police have registered two separate cases against the prime suspect, Ghulam Abbas, and his accomplices. The suspects had broken into a house in the Dhok Kamal Deen area sprayed the dwellers with bullets over a marriage dispute.
