
At least 16 people died, whereas 1,018 were injured in 903 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of this, 617 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals, whereas, 401 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site. The majority of 66% involved motorcycles. Further, the analysis showed that 403 drivers, 37 underage drivers, 149 pedestrians, and 482 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes. The statistics showed that 200 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 215 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 75 in Faisalabad with 84 victims and at third Gujranwala with 62 RTCs and 66 victims. The details further revealed that 1,034 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 817 males and 217 females, while the age group of the victims showed that 202 were under 18 years of age, 537 were between 18 and 40 years and the rest of the 295 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
