Seven killed in 869 RTCs in a day

The age group of the victims showed that 209 were under 18 years of age

At least seven people were killed whereas 963 others sustained injuries in 869 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of the total injured, 567 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals whereas, 396 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site. The majority, around 69 per cent, involved motorcycles. Furthermore, the analysis showed that 357 drivers, 25 underage drivers, 138 pedestrians, and 475 passengers were among the victims of these RTCs. The statistics revealed that 172 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 169 persons, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 79 RTCs in Faisalabad with 87 victims and Gujranwala at third with 64 RTCs and 70 victims. The details further revealed that 970 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 792 male & 178 female victims. The age group of the victims showed that 209 were under 18 years of age, 515 were between 18 and 40 years and the remaining 246 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age.
