Pharmacies’ cases sent to drug court

DC directed the drug inspectors to accelerate the crackdown against manufacturers and sellers of spurious drugs

District Quality Control Board (DQCB) Faisalabad has referred cases of 11 medical stores to the Drug Court for prosecution. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali while chairing a board meeting on Friday. He reviewed the assessment reports of drug inspectors in addition to examining the cases of 28 medical stores guilty of violating drug acts. He issued a warning to two medical store owners whereas cases of 14 medical stores were adjourned. The DC directed the drug inspectors to accelerate the crackdown against manufacturers and sellers of spurious drugs. He warned of strict action against quacks playing havoc with health of the patients. The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioner (General), district health officer, DQCB secretary and others.
