72 ACE officers repatriated

Public trust has increased on ACE due to its recent performance

As many as 72 officers have been transferred from Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) during the last six months. A majority of these officers had been on deputation in ACE for a long time. Those transferred belonged to different service cadres and occupational groups including PAS, PMS and Police. As many as five directors, six deputy directors and six assistant directors were repatriated. As many as 51 officials of the police department including four deputy superintendents of police, 29 inspectors, one assistant sub inspector, four sub inspectors, five head constables and eight constables were also sent back to their department. ACE DG Gohar Nafees said lately, public trust has increased on ACE due to its recent performance. DG Gohar Nafees has termed the overhaul a step towards internal reforms. He also said that only those officers will be allowed to work in ACE who believes in good governance through across the board accountability.
