ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri on Saturday stressed the need to create interfaith and sectarian harmony in the country.

The minister highlighted that the religious leaders had played a pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan and supported Quaid-e-Azam without asking which sect the Father of the Nation belonged to.

He observed that Islam was a complete religion that gave the message of peace, love and harmony to the entire humanity.

Qadri noted that minorities were given the most rights in Pakistan which could be compared with any country in the world.

Commenting on the rising inflation, the minister expressed the hope that the country would come out of the economic crisis and added the difficult time would pass soon.

He maintained that certain elements were deliberately trying to push the country into the 80s and 90s decade and were fanning sectarian hatred.

“Sectarian strife has destroyed several Muslim countries in the world,” he said.

Hailing the armed forces, the religious minister noted that the Pakistan Army had rendered innumerable sacrifices for the country, which would not go to waste.

Qadri maintained that anyone who had deceived the country and fled abroad would be brought back and dealt strictly.

He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had provided a way to the Arab countries to decide whether or not to recognise Israel.
