QUETTA:

Balochistan Secondary Education Department on Friday closed two schools in Quetta following the confirmation of eight Covid-19 cases in two different high schools for girls. While speaking to APP, the Secretary Secondary Foundation Sher Khan Bazai provided more information on the situation and said that the cases were reported from the Government Girls High School Jinnah Town and Government Girls High School Alam Khan- Kili Almo, just days after schools reopened following the lockdown. The secretary requested the parents not to send their children to school if they were suffering from flu, cough, fever or any other symptom of the virus. He further warned that the schools which were not following the standard operating procedures would be immediately closed. In addition to this he said that in light of the directives given by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the provincial government along with the education department would be compelled to close down the schools again if there was a spike in cases.
