Cops investigate doctor’s murder

A close relative of Dr Umatullah has been taken into custody for investigation

A case was registered on Thursday night against the murder of a doctor whose two-day-old body was found in Bahadurabad. Dr Umatullah, 60, was found dead in her house on September 4, with the postmortem report indicating that she had been strangled to death, according to Ferozabad SHO Inspector Aurangzeb Khattak. The police suspect that Dr Umatullah was murdered over a property dispute. A case has been registered under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code pertaining to murder on the complaint of a friend of the deceased, Dr Humayun Bashir. A close relative of Dr Umatullah has been taken into custody for investigation, say the police.
