Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein is expected to be stripped off of his British royal honour this week, reported Daily Mail.

The disgraced Hollywood producer who was convicted of rape and sentenced to 23 years in prison earlier this year by a US court, will lose his honorific Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) at the Honours Forfeiture Committee meeting on Friday for 'bringing the system into disrepute.'

Playwright Polly Creed rallied for Britain to make the essential move citing French President Emmanuel Macron removing Weinstein's Legion d'Honneur right after the first allegations made waves in 2017. Over time, more than 80 women including Hollywood A-Listers came forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment, including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, etc.

The 68 year old was awarded the royal honour back in 2004 for his services to the British film industry.
