‘CBR housing society much better than any other society in twin cities’

Eligible and qualified members of CBR will get their plots on priority basis, says society president Altaf Ahmad Bhat

Central Board of Revenue (CBR) Cooperative Employees Housing Society is much better than any other cooperative society in the twin cities, President CBR Housing Society Altaf Ahmad Bhat said while briefing the Federal Board of Revenue, CBR officers, employees and other members of the society in Islamabad on Monday.

He said that the remaining eligible and qualified members of CBR will get their plots on a priority basis, adding that the audit system of the society is commendable. "A group of exploiters will not succeed to shine its politics at the cost of the reputation of the society," he added.

"I want to make it clear that every qualified society member has the right to contest elections and become part of the management to serve the members. We will never allow anyone to defame the society to fulfil their ulterior and hidden agenda," Bhat said.

“When the present management took the charge in 2011, there were only Rs8 million deposits, Rs40 million liabilities of contractors and at the same time we were facing the shortage of one thousand Kanal land,” he said.

"In 2011, the society had only 1,300 Kanal land in its phase two which is now near about 7,000 Kanal. These all achievements are the success stories and we are proud of it."

He said that when we took the charge of society in 2011, there was a need of Rs350 million for remaining development work of CBR town phase-I which were managed by the management and had been spent for development of the society.

"CBR town zone 5 of the society is a success story and members have constructed their new houses and we will continue to serve for society members in future," he added.

CBD society president said that the first five blocks of CBR Town Phase-II Thalian have been developed. Plots in these five blocks are ready for construction and so many houses have been constructed while many are under construction.

Bhat further said that it is the responsibility of the society members to join hands together to expose exploiters who are working round the clock to defame the society for their personal gains.

Chief patron of CBR housing society Fahimul Haq Khan hailed the contribution of the management and urged them to continue their services for the betterment of the society. Secretary of Society M Saleem Khan presented a fact-finding presentation which was appreciated by participants.

Muhammad Khalid Qureshi apprised the participants and briefed the previous history of society and explained success stories of the past ten years.
