Premier assures of full support for completion of development projects

QUETTA:

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday reached Quetta for a day-long visit review flood situation, Covid-19, and development projects in Balochistan.

The premier was briefed on the province’s law and order situation and ongoing development projects. During the briefing by Chief Secretary Balochistan Fazeel Asghar, the prime minister was also informed about the damage casued by the recent rains and floods.

Appreciating the provincial government on measures taken, the premier assured of full support from the federak government for the timely completion on development projects.

Upon his arrival to Quetta, the premier met with Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan. The two discussed the overall situation in the province as well matters related to development.

He is accompanied by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri and Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lt. General Muhammad Afzal.

Members of the provincial cabinet will also call on the prime minister.

Last week, the prime minister, on his visit to Karachi, announced a development package of Rs1.1 trillion for the metropolis under its transformation plan in the wake of recent unprecedented heavy rains leaving the infrastructure of the metropolis in tatters and its civic agencies struggling to mitigate the woes of its residents.

Around Rs572 billion was said to be spent on the city’s mass transit system and rail and road transport systems.
