LAHORE:

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing Zone II, III and IV staff conducted a grand operation in New Garden Town, Iqbal Town and Johar Town areas on Thursday and sealed 47 buildings due to the non-payment of commercialisation fees. An LDA spokesperson said the authority had already issued notices to the property owners for the clearance of dues. However, on account of non-payment of fees by the deadline, the properties were sealed. Seven buildings were sealed in New Garden Town in Babar Block, Shershah Block and Tipu Block. As many as 10 buildings situated in Kareem Block were sealed in Allama Iqbal Town while 30 buildings were sealed in Johar Town blocks F, F-1, R-1 and J-3. The spokesperson said more than Rs30 million were expected to be generated from these properties, which would be spent on improving the city infrastructure.
