RAWALPINDI:

The newly appointed Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Ahmed said that investigation funds would be credited in the accounts of investigation officers (IOs).

Talking to the media on Tuesday, the police chief of Rawalpindi division said that making funds available to IOs will end the perception that the investigations were delayed due to financial issues.

Ahmed iterated that during his career, he always enforced the policy of transferring investigation funds directly to the accounts of IOs and the same policy would be implemented in Rawalpindi too.

The top-cop of the Rawalpindi division said there would be a zero-tolerance policy against land grabbers while policemen involved in criminal activity, directly or indirectly, would be jailed too.

To a question, RPO said that he was unlikely to suffer any tension due to political pressure. “I recently underwent a cardiac test and the doctors confirmed that it was strong,” he said adding he would not give in to any undue pressure.

RPO said he was working to provide better facilities to the policemen and officers alike.
