Sindh sees 188 new coronavirus cases

One more death takes province’s death toll to 2,423

Sindh saw 188 fresh coronavirus cases and one death due to the contagious disease in the past 24 hours, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Sunday.

With the newly reported cases and death, the virus tally and the death toll in the province rose to 130,671 and 2,423, respectively.

Shah further stated that of 8,999 people tested for Covid-19 on the day, around 2 per cent turned out to be infected.

He apprised that there were 2,035 active coronavirus cases in the province, of which 1,700 were in home isolation, 328 were being treated at different hospitals and seven were quarantined at isolation centres.

Moreover, the condition of 154 patients was stated to be critical and 15 of them were on ventilators.

Meanwhile, 49 people recuperated from the disease overnight, taking the total number of recoveries to 126,213.

Of the newly-diagnosed cases, 115 belonged to Karachi, said the CM. Moreover, Thatta saw 12 new cases, Badin nine, Khairpur eight, Hyderabad and Tando Mohammad Khan four each, Kashmore and Tando Allahyar three each, Sukkur, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Larkana , Sanghar and Ghotki two apiece, and Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Matiari, Shaheed Benazirabad and Shikarpur one each.
