The Gadap City police claimed on Saturday to have arrested a suspected member of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and confiscated explosives, detonators and other ammunition from his possession. The suspect, Saeedullah alias Choti Dunia, had been trained in Afghanistan and was an expert in preparing bombs, they added. According to the police, four kilogrammes of explosives, five detonators, detonator wires and two pistols were seized from his possession. The police claimed he was planning major terrorist activities, which were foiled due to his arrest. They are carrying out raids to arrest his accomplices.
