Man sets himself ablaze, dies

Investigation underway

LAHORE:

An unidentified man died by suicide by self-immolation in Raiwind on Thursday. The victim reportedly doused himself with petrol near Jati Umra Road and set himself ablaze. Nearby people called the police and rescue teams to save the man who rushed to the spot on information. They put off the fire but the victim did not survive the burns. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A police team shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy, collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements of the eye-witnesses. Further investigation regarding the incident is underway.
