An additional district and sessions judge has confirmed pre-arrest bails of actors Bilal Saeed and Saba Qamar who are facing an FIR on allegations of shooting the video of a song in Wazir Khan Mosque.
Qamar was wearing a ‘Burqa’ as she appeared before the court and her counsel consoled her after tears came in her eyes. The investigation officer (IO) told the court that the investigation has not been completed yet, adding that the complainant had not submitted the videos.
The judge said the clips could be obtained from social media. The petitioners' counsel implored the court that Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed had not committed any offense of disgracing the mosque but they were being humiliated by being implicated in a false case.
They said neither dance was performed nor any music played at the mosque. They contended the offense mentioned in the FIR was a malicious attempt to malign the reputation of the petitioners.
They submitted that the song Qabool Hai with which the video shooting was linked, was released on August 12 and it contained no footage of the mosque as alleged in the FIR. The complainant’s counsel opposed the bail, contending that the accused had committed a heinous offence.
