A local court granted on Wednesday a 10-day extension to the investigation officer (IO) for the completion of inquiry and submission of challan in a case pertaining to a citizen being killed by police gunfire at II Chundrigar Road.
The IO submitted the interim challan and informed the court that the forensic analysis report of the weapons involved in the incident had not yet been received.
He moved the court to grant an extension for the final challan's submission after the investigation's completion.
The challan stated that three men were talking loudly while riding two motorcycles when police officials in a Madadgar-15 van, suspecting them to be robbers, opened fire in an attempt to stop them. As a result, a pedestrian was killed while one of the motorcyclists was injured.
