Senior police official Dr Jameel Ahmed has been transferred and appointed as the Hyderabad police chief.
A notification in this was issued on Saturday, when Dr Ahmed assumed the charge as Hyderabad AIG following a guard of honour ceremony. He had earlier served as the Counter-Terrorism Department AIG, Sukkur AIG and Traffic AIG. After assuming the charge, the new Hyderabad police chief reviewed the security arrangements for Ashura and issued directives in this regard to relevant police officials.
