
At least five people were killed in rain-related incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday, while several others were injured or rescued from drowning on the day.
A 10-year-old boy was killed and his mother critically injured when a wall at their residence collapsed during heavy rain in Jogi Mor Waqar Town, in the limits of the Shah Latif Town police.
The child was identified as Akash, while his mother, who was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, was identified as Shabana.
Meanwhile, another boy drowned while bathing in a pool of water in Musharraf Colony. His body was retrieved by Edhi volunteers and he was shifted to a hospital, where he was identified as 13-year-old Shazain.
Mochko SHO Waseem said he and his cousins had been bathing in the water when he drowned.

Separately, two children reportedly drowned in a nullah at Zia Colony in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. While rescue workers launched a search operation, they could not be found until the filing of this report.
An unidentified man was also electrocuted to death near Pakistan Chowk.
Moreover, Edhi divers rescued at least six people from drowning in the Malir river after they were swept away by strong currents while trying to cross the water.
Two men on a motorcycle also nearly drowned in a hill torrent rushing towards Keenjhar Lake in Thatta, but were rescued by area residents.
In Tando Gulab Laghari, meanwhile, two women, identified as Samreen Shahani, 25, and Shijira Shahani, 18, were injured after a wall collapsed on them due to the rain.
