KARACHI:

The metropolis is sinking in sewage water every time it rains, as a result of the government's incompetence, corruption and prejudice, stated Pak Sarzameen Party chairperson Mustafa Kamal.

Chairing a meeting with his party's central executive committee and national council on Sunday, Kamal urged the city's stakeholders to play their role in building an autonomous, strong and effective local government system.

"Karachi needs a permanent solution, which will come from nothing but an empowered, autonomous and effective local government system," he said, adding that the entire city had been submerged in rainwater, while people's homes were flooded with sewage and the relevant authorities were nowhere to be seen.

"The destruction of Karachi is the destruction of Pakistan," he added.
