Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has raised doubts over the health of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif saying “even his family knows that he is healthy.”
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday, the minister alleged that Nawaz, who is also a supremo of Paksitan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) PML-N, submitted fake medical reports to get bail from the court.
PTI-led government in November last year allowed Nawaz to travel to London for medical treatment after he was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court on humanitarian grounds in the Al Azizia case and by the Lahore High Court in the ongoing Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, in which he is a suspect.
“Nawaz Sharif committed fraud by submitting forged medical reports and Punjab government will hold inquiry into the matter to identify those who are responsible.”
“I had said this earlier that Nawaz Sharif is not sick and should not be given any relaxation,” Fawad added.
He claimed that PML-N leader Maryam and his father Nawaz wanted to sabotage the politics of party president, Shehbaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif to be brought back, says information minister
Earlier in a tweet, Fawad praised the PTI government’s decision of using legal channels including approaching UK authorities for Nawaz’s repatriation.
He added in a tweet that PTI’s accountability narrative was badly damaged after he was allowed to go to London, stressing that those who were involved in preparing fake medical reports of Nawaz Sharif should be given exemplary punishments.

Responding to the PTI minister’s allegations, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that former PM Nawaz went abroad legally with the approval of Punjab government.
Marriyum said the politics of Prime Minister Imran Khan revolved around PML-N supremo and PTI officials make such statement to distract masses from their incompetence and bad governance.
She also urged the government to take steps to bring back estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen from UK instead of making statements against PML-N leadership.
