Female doctor ‘commits suicide’

A young woman allegedly shot herself in the head at a house in Gizri late on Tuesday night. She was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment but succumbed to her injuries. According to the police, the deceased, 25-year-old M*, was a doctor at a private hospital near Bilawal House. Initial investigations indicated that M had allegedly shot herself after an argument with her father. The police expressed the belief she had committed suicide due to a domestic dispute. They said that M and her family had shifted to the bungalow two weeks earlier, adding that the pistol used was taken into custody but its ownership and registration were yet to be investigated.
