Jewellery bought for daughter’s wedding robbed

Police have registered a case on the complaint filed by the victim’s husband

RAWALPINDI:

A woman was robbed in front of her house by the armed motorcyclists after she returned from shopping for her daughter’s wedding in the Chah Sultan area on Monday.

The snatching incident occurred in the precincts of Waris Khan Police station on Monday.

Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younus took notice of the incident.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage, seen by The Express Tribune, showed the victim arrived at her house in her car at around 9pm.

The pillion rider on a motorcycle, that was chasing the car, attempted to snatch the purse from the woman. The victim resisted the move and amidst tugging, she ultimately fell and lost control of the bag. The suspects rode away with the purse containing valuables and cash.

Police have registered a case on the complaint filed by the victim’s husband, Muhammad Masood. He said that the purse contained Rs150,000 along with jewelry worth Rs0.2 million and other valuables.
