
The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) held a motorcycle rally to mark the Independent Day and counter one-wheeling in the metropolis.
The rally was held at the Mall Road and led by Chief Traffic Police Officer (CTO) Hammad Abid. The heavy bikes participating in the rally included those being used by special squad of 49 bikes to counter one-wheeling on the Independence Day.
It started from Alhamra Hall Mall Road and after passing through Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard culminated at Liberty Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Abid said the purpose of the rally was to convey a message of safe journey to public. He added that this was also a message to anti-social and law breakers that if they were found in eve-teasing or hooliganism, they will be dealt with iron-hands.
He said at least 5,000 motorcycles were impounded in different police stations during crackdown against one-wheeling.
