‘Govt nowhere to be seen in emergencies’

Khurram Sher Zaman claims PPP could not resolve Karachi's issues in 12 years of governance

Where is the Provincial Disaster Management Authority when Sindh is flooded with rainwater, questioned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Khurram Sher Zaman on Monday, adding that the provincial government was nowhere to be seen whenever the province had an emergency.

Claiming that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) could not resolve Sindh's issues even after 12 years of governance, he said that notices should be issued about the disappearance of the Sindh irrigation minister.

Lashing out at Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah, Zaman said he should have established relief camps in Dadu and Jamshoro, instead of taking helicopter rides there. He further stated that the Nai Gaj Dam could not be constructed despite the investment of millions of rupees.

Moreover, he asserted that Sindh's citizens deserved the basic facilities of clean drinking water, health, cleanliness and others, such as the citizens of Punjab received. He added that the areas where PPP leaders had been elected were suffering miserably.

He reiterated that the situation in Sindh would not improve as long as the province was ruled by the PPP.
