Panel formed to improve shelter homes

The committee will submit recommendations about financial and administrative autonomy

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, a three-member committee was constituted on Wednesday to improve the existing system of shelter homes. According to officials, the additional chief secretary will be the convener while the social welfare secretary and the PITB chairman would be members of the committee. The committee will submit recommendations about financial and administrative autonomy of shelter homes to the chief minister within seven days to improve the overall arrangements along with development of a new IT-based system for the monitoring of shelter homes.
