KARACHI:

A guest was found dead in a hotel near Regal Chowk in Saddar, in the limits of Preedy Police Station, on Tuesday.

According to police, the man, identified as Tauseef, 45, a cloth trader and resident of Hyderabad, was staying in room no. 120 at Almas Hotel. He was visiting Karachi for business and was to leave for Hyderabad on the day, they said, adding that when he didn't come out of the room for long, the hotel management called the police. On reaching the hotel, when police opened the room's door with a duplicate key, they found the trader lying dead.

Initial investigation suggests that the trader died a natural death, police said. However, the cause of the death can only be ascertained after the post-mortem report is released, they added.

Police took the hotel's manager and another staff to the police station for further probe.
