An elderly woman was robbed of Rs35,000 at gunpoint in the Harbanspura area on Thursday. The victim, Razia Bibi, told the police that she was returning home on a rickshaw from the Ichhra area after visiting her relatives when an unidentified man, approximately 35 years old, took a lift. “The rickshaw driver took a turn saying that he would drop the person and then take her home.” However, at a deserted location near Harbanspura graveyard, the duo pulled out a handgun and asked for valuables, threatening to take her life if she did not listen to them, she added. The woman handed over Rs35,000 to them. She said she was carrying the money to buy a sacrificial animal.
