PESHAWAR:

Member National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Akbar Chitrali has rejected the proposed cable car project from Kumrat Valley of Upper Dir to the Madaklasht Valley of Chitral, demanding instead the construction of a two-lane expressway from Chakdara to Chitral to boost more tourism in the two districts. In a statement on Saturday, the MNA who represents Chitral said that a Korean bank has pledged to provide Rs17 billion for the Chakdara-Chitral Expressway.

He said this project will also service Bajaur along with the two districts. The construction of the motorway, he contended, will make it easy for local and foreign tourists to see the scenic valleys of both districts. Visitors will also be able to visit Gilgit through this road, he added.
